Brazil exported 5,389 mt of niobium ferroalloys in February, against 8,423 mt in January, according to customs data.
The decline reflects chiefly exports to China, reduced from 4,200 mt in January to 2,030 mt at $24,401/mt in February.
The exports in January were destined to Asia (3,245 mt at $25,246/mt), Europe (1,282 mt at $27,216/mt), the US (627 mt at $24,199/mt), Mexico (131 mt at $24,394/mt), Canada (83 mt at $24,073/mt) and Argentina (21 mt at $29,830/mt), all FOB conditions.
The exporters were CBMM, the world’s largest producing company (4,414 mt at $26,289/mt) and CMOC (550 mt at $24,052/mt), while 425 mt were exported from operations in the state of Amazonas.
