Kazakhstan’s Qarmet to build new casting and rolling complex in Temirtau

According to media reports Kazakhstan-based steelmaker Qarmet, formerly known as ArcelorMittal Temirtau, will invest $700 million to build a state-of-the-art casting and rolling complex in Temirtau. This project marks a major milestone for the country’s metallurgical industry and is set to be the first facility of its kind in Central Asia.

High-tech facility to boost regional steel output

Planned to be operational by 2027, the complex will utilize next-generation technologies to annually produce up to four million mt of high-quality flat steel products. These will include premium grades tailored for key industries such as oil and gas, nuclear power, and engineering.
