Japan’s ferroalloy imports up 12.2 percent in Nov over Oct

According to statistics released by Japan's Ministry of Finance, Japan's ferroalloy imports totaled 152,273 metric tons in November 2012, increasing by 12.2 percent month on month and almost stable compared to November 2011.

Meanwhile, in the first 11 months of 2012, Japan's ferroalloy imports amounted to 1.56 million metric tons, decreasing by 4.6 percent year on year.

In November, Japan's ferroalloy imports from South Africa increased to 44,036 metric tons, more than double compared to the previous month, while China exported 27,942 mt of ferroalloy to Japan in November, down 2.3 percent month on month. Meanwhile, Kazakhstan's ferroalloy exports to Japan in the month in question fell by 24.4 percent month on month to 24,665 mt.
