In October this year, Japanese crude steel production was up four percent compared to the previous month and decreased one percent compared to October last year, totaling 8.97 million mt, according to the data released by the Japan Iron and Steel Federation (JISF).
Meanwhile, in October of the current year Japan's pig iron production totaled 6.57 million metric tons, rising by 3.1 percent compared to the previous month and falling 3.1 percent year on year.
In the first ten months of this year, the country's pig iron output stood at 65.32 million metric tons, down 2.8 percent, while its crude steel production came to 87.23 million metric tons, falling 0.2 percent, both on year-on-year basis.
