Japanese crude steel output up 0.9 percent in Nov from Oct

In November this year, Japanese crude steel production was up by 0.9 percent compared to the previous month and fell by 0.5 percent compared to November last year, totaling 8.65 million mt, according to the data released by the Japan Iron and Steel Federation (JISF).

Meanwhile, in November of the current year Japan's pig iron production totaled 6.32 million metric tons, increasing by 0.6 percent compared to the previous month and declining by 1.6 percent year on year.

In the January-November period of this year, the country's pig iron output stood at 71.14 million metric tons, down 0.8 percent, while its crude steel production came to 95.86 million metric tons, falling by 0.1 percent, both on year-on-year basis.
