Japanese auto output rises 5.5 percent in May

According to the data provided by the Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association (JAMA), in May this year Japanese automobile production (including passenger cars, trucks and buses) totaled 693,013 units, rising by 5.5 percent compared to the same month of last year.

Domestic automobile sales in May in Japan stood at 372,576 vehicles, up 12.4 percent as compared with the same month of 2016. In the meantime, the country's automobile exports in May amounted to 320,255 units, up by 5.8 percent year on year.
