In April this year, iron ore shipments from Australia’s Port Hedland decreased by 0.2 percent month on month and by 0.9 percent year on year, totaling 46,275,422 mt.
According to the information released by Port Hedland Port Authority, in the given month, iron ore shipments made from Port Hedland to China amounted to 38.48 million mt, remaining relatively stable compared to the previous month and down by 6.4 percent year on year. South Korea and Japan followed China in March, receiving 3.44 million mt and 2.16 million mt respectively.
On the other hand, iron ore shipments from Port Dampier in April increased by 19 percent month on month and by 8.5 percent year on year to 13.51 million mt.
