Iron and steel scrap exports from US down 35 percent year-on-year in November

US iron and steel scrap exports totaled 874,687 mt in November, down 5.25 percent from the 923,149 mt exported in October, and down 35.02 percent from the 1,346,149 mt exported in November 2014.

Turkey was the top destination for US steel scrap exports in November, with a total of 328,285 mt. The total reflects a 27.75 percent increase from October’s total of 256,984 mt and a 79.91 percent jump from November 2014’s total of 182,469 mt.

Other top destinations include: India, with 135,801 mt; Mexico, with 66,848 mt; Korea, with 63,966 mt; Taiwan, with 62,266 mt; and China, with 47,281 mt.
