Ukrainian steel pipe and railway wheel producer Interpipe has announced its operational results for the full year of 2016.

Accordingly, in 2016, Interpipe’s pipe sales decreased by 10 percent year on year to 485,000 mt. In particular, in the given year, the company’s pipe sales rose by 12 percent year on year in the European market to 124,000 mt and in the US remained at the level of the preceding year, while sales in the Middle East decreased to 69,000 mt from 85,000 mt recorded in 2015 due to the losses in the markets of Turkey, Egypt, and Iraq, and sales in the CIS declined by 32 percent year on year to 104,000 mt.

In 2016, Interpipe’s sales of wheel products increased by 22 percent year on year to 114,000 mt, including 24,000 mt of railway wheels. The internal market became the point of growth for wheel products and over the course of the year the company systematically reduced the share of its low-margin products in the European market, building up its sales of technologically complicated goods.

Meanwhile, Interpipe’s round steel billet output totaled 614,000 mt, rising marginally compared to 2015, while its round steel billet sales to external consumers amounted to 40,000 mt.
