Ukraine-based steel pipe producer Interpipe has announced that it has completed the acquisition of Luxembourg-based ArcelorMittal’s Romanian subsidiary ArcelorMittal Tubular Products Roman S.A., effective March 31, 2026.

The transaction marks a significant step in the company’s strategy to expand its presence in Europe and strengthen its position in key regional markets.

First production platform in the EU

Interpipe stated that the acquisition represents its first manufacturing platform within the EU, marking a milestone in its international expansion.

The company highlighted that the Romanian facility will complement its vertically integrated operations in Ukraine, supporting both geographic diversification and technological integration.

The AMTP plant is a major producer of seamless steel pipes with diameters ranging from 168.3 mm to 406.4 mm.

By integrating the Romanian facility, Interpipe aims to:

  • increase production capacity,
  • improve supply chain efficiency,
  • enhance reliability of deliveries.

The company also expects to achieve operational synergies by combining its technological expertise with the plant’s existing capabilities.
