India’s Tata Steel reports 2% drop in steel sales in Q2 FY 2023-24

India’s Tata Steel Limited has reported sales of 4.82 million mt in the second quarter (July-September) of the fiscal year 2023-24, down two percent year on year, a company statement said on Monday, October 9.

The company reported that sales in Thailand and Europe came to 1.79 million mt, down four percent year on year.

Tata Steel’s production from Indian operations was recorded at 4.99 million mt in the given period, a rise of four percent, while production from operations in Thailand and Europe amounted to 1.99 million mt and 0.28 million mt, down 17 percent and seven percent year on year, respectively.

In the first half (April-September), the company reported total sales of 9.62 million mt, up seven percent year on year.
