India’s retail automobile sales as estimated based on new registrations have been recorded at 2,557,234 units in June 2026, a rise of 21.83 percent year on year, according to data released by the Federation of Automobile Dealers Association (FADA) on Monday, July 6.
The data showed passenger car (PV) retail sales totaled 410,843 units in June, a rise of 28.63 percent, while two-wheeler sales came to 1,828,458 units, a growth of 21.22 percent, both year on year. Commercial vehicle retail sales were 16.88 percent higher at 90,972 units.
However, passenger vehicle inventories at dealers in the May-June period were up to 32-34 days, against the FADA benchmark of 20-22 days.
