Indian passenger car makers achieve robust double-digit sales growth in March 2026

Major Indian passenger car markers sustained robust double-digit sales growth in March 2026, a compilation of data released by various automobile companies showed on Thursday, April 2.

The country’s largest passenger car maker in terms of market share, Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL), reported sales of 169,328 units in March 2026, a rise of 10.27 percent, while Tata Motors Limited sold 66,971 units, a growth of 29 percent, year on year.

Toyota Kirloskar Motors Limited sold 35,125 units, up 23.8 percent, and Mahindra & Mahindra sold 60,272 units, a rise of 25 percent, year on year.

Nissan India Limited showed the highest growth rate of 151 percent, selling 4,408 units on the back of new product launches, while Kia Motors notched up sales of 29,112 units, a rise of 14.5 percent, year on year.

Only two manufacturers, Hyundai Motors India Limited (HMIL) and Honda Motors India Limited, reported single-digit sales rises, of 6.3 percent and 5.0 percent, respectively, selling 55,064 units and 7,585 units, respectively.
