Indian automobile retail sales across all categories in February 2026, as represented by new registrations, have been provisionally estimated at 2.409 million units, a rise of 25.62 percent year on year, according to data released by the Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations (FADA) on Thursday, March 5.
Passenger car retail sales during February 2026 came to an estimated 394,768 units, a rise of 21.12 percent, while two-wheeler sales were around 1.7 million units, up 25.02 percent, both year on year, FADA said.
Commercial vehicle sales recorded a growth of 28.89 percent and tractor sales showed the highest sales growth of 36.35 percent, year on year. However, FADA has not disclosed the absolute sales figures for these two categories.
