Hunan Province-based Chinese steelmaker Hunan Valin Iron & Steel Co. (Hunan Valin Steel) has announced respective pig iron, crude steel and finished steel outputs of 1.82 million mt, 2.3 million mt and 2.16 million mt for May of this year, increasing by four percent, six percent and eight percent compared to April.
In May, finished steel prices in China moved up amid strong demand from downstream users and so domestic steelmakers increased their capacity utilization rates.
