Georgia’s steel bar imports from Turkey keep rising in Jan-Feb 2026

In the January-February period this year, Georgia's total external trade turnover with Turkey, which is the top trading partner of the country, amounted to $499.5 million, including imports worth $415.64 million, up 18.9 percent, and exports worth $83.89 million, increasing 80.9 percent, both on year-on-year basis, according to the preliminary data provided by the National Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat).

In the first two months, Georgia's imports of bars and rods of iron or non-alloy steel from Turkey amounted to 58,587 mt, compared to 715 mt in the corresponding period last year. Meanwhile, the value of these imports totaled $34.86 million, rising compared to $460,200 in the January-February period of 2025.
