Iranian state-owned steelmaker Esfahan Steel plans to produce 2.75 million mt of finished long products in the current Iranian year (21.03.2010-20.03.2011 ), Khosravi Rad, vice president of Esfahan Steel, said recently. Esfahan Steel produced 2.51 million mt of finished products in the last Iranian year, according to the Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO).
Meanwhile, shares in Esfahan Steel are to be sold through Tehran Stock Exchange in the current Iranian year, Safar Ali Barati, the new managing director of the steelmaker, stated lately. For a few years now the Iranian government has been planning to privatize Esfahan Steel, but has been unable to do so due to certain financial problems at the company.
