Iranian private sector steelmaker Yazd Steel Group is to commission its new rolling mill in the second quarter of 2010, company officials have stated. Construction of the new mill, which has a designed annual rolling capacity of 500,000 mt of I-beams and U-beams, is currently in the final phases of equipment installation.

The producer had previously planned to commission the new mill towards the end of 2007, but was delayed due to technical problems and difficulties relating to equipment installation.

Yazd Steel Group, based in the central Iranian city of Yazd city, already operates a bar mill with an annual capacity of 300,000 mt and a wire rod rolling mill with a capacity of 400,000 mt per year.
