CPCA: China’s passenger vehicle retail sales down 8.0% on March 1-19

Passenger vehicle retail sales in China totaled 700,000 units in the March 1-19 period this year, down 8.0 percent year on year, while declining by 4.0 percent month on month, according to the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA).

In the current year up to March 19, passenger vehicle retail sales in China amounted to 3.379 million units, down 18 percent year on year. 

Meanwhile, new energy vehicle (NEV) retail sales in China totaled 246,000 units in the March 1-19 period, up 15.0 percent year on year, while up 11.0 percent month on month. In the current year up to March 19, NEV retail sales in China amounted to 1.016 million units, up 21.0 percent year on year. 

Many regions issued special offer promotions in March, stimulating vehicle sales.
