In the January-March period this year, Colombia exported 36,119 mt of ferronickel, up 13.9 percent, with a value of $205.21 million, rising by 14.9 percent, both year on year, as announced by the Colombian National Administrative Department of Statistics (DANE). In March, Colombian ferronickel exports amounted to 11,453 mt, rising by 10.3 percent, and were worth $62.56 million, up by 3.2 percent, both year on year.
In the January-March period, Colombia’s iron and steel export volume totaled 55,878 mt, growing by 5.9 percent, with a value of $247.98 million, up by 9.5 percent, both on year-on-year basis. In March, Colombian iron and steel exports amounted to 22,662 mt, up by 16.0 percent, and were worth $82.53 million, advancing by 2.4 percent, both compared to the same month of 2022.
