In the January-May period this year, Colombia exported 61,327 mt of ferronickel, up 3.7 percent, with a value of $333.03 million, declining by 10.0 percent, both year on year, as announced by the Colombian National Administrative Department of Statistics (DANE). In May, Colombian ferronickel exports amounted to 17,003mt, increasing by 69.5 percent, and were worth $80.12 million, up by 0.5 percent, both year on year.
In the January-May period, Colombia’s iron and steel export volume totaled 90,507 mt, decreasing by 3.2 percent, with a value of $400.40 million, down by 11.3 percent, both on year-on-year basis. In May, Colombian iron and steel exports amounted to 22,532 mt, up by 47.5 percent, and were worth $92.48 million, falling by 0.2 percent, both compared to the same month of 2022.
