Colombia’s iron and steel export volume down 1.3 percent in January-September

In the January-September period this year, Colombia exported 111,725 mt of ferronickel, up 0.7 percent, with a value of $522.2 million, declining by 29.9 percent, both year on year, as announced by the Colombian National Administrative Department of Statistics (DANE). In September, Colombian ferronickel exports amounted to 10,129 mt, decreasing by 30.5 percent, and were worth $21.7 million, down by 73.3 percent, both year on year.

In the January-September period, Colombia’s iron and steel export volume totaled 170,513 mt, decreasing by 1.3 percent, with a value of $649.8 million, down by 27.5 percent, both on year-on-year basis. In September, Colombian iron and steel exports amounted to 19,507 mt, down 10.1 percent, and were worth $38.2 million, falling by 60.9 percent, both compared to the same month of 2022.
