China’s net stainless steel exports down 5.79 percent in July

In July this year, China’s stainless steel imports amounted to 136,800 mt, up 15.87 percent month on month, while down 23.32 percent year on year, according to China’s customs authorities.

In July, China’s stainless steel exports totaled 359,800 mt, up 4.81 percent month on month, while down 13.51 percent year on year. 

In the January-July period this year, China’s stainless steel imports and exports amounted to 979,600 mt and 2.3987 million mt, down 47.43 percent and 15.43 percent year on year, respectively.    

In July, China’s net export volume of stainless steel reached 223,000 mt, down 0.98 percent month on month, while decreasing by 5.79 percent year on year. In the first seven months this year, China’s net export volume of stainless steel totaled 1.4191 million mt, up 45.85 percent year on year.    

At the same time, in July, China’s stainless steel scrap imports amounted to 19,012 mt, up 5.62 percent month on month, while up 163.91 percent year on year. In the January-July period this year, China’s stainless steel scrap imports reached 203,200 mt, up 491.32 percent year on year.
