In the January-March period this year, production and sales of automotive vehicles in China amounted to 7.039 million units and 7.048 million units, decreasing by 6.9 percent and 5.6 percent year on year, respectively, according to the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM).
In the given period, China’s vehicle exports amounted to 2.226 million units, up 56.7 percent year on year.
In March alone, production and sales of automotive vehicles in China amounted to 2.917 million units and 2.899 million units, rising by 74.4 percent and 60.6 percent month on month, while decreasing by 3.0 percent and 0.6 percent year on year, respectively. In March, China’s vehicle exports totaled 875,000 units, up 30.2 percent month on month, while increasing by 72.7 percent year on year.
In the first three months this year, sales of automotive vehicles in China indicated a modest decline, while the pace of decline slowed compared to that recorded in the January-February period this year, signaling positive momentum in the automotive vehicle industry following the Chinese New Year holiday.
