Brazilian wire rod exports decline in October

Wire rod exports from Brazil reached 9,300 mt in October, against 22,800 mt in September, according to customs data.

The exports in October were from ArcelorMittal (7,300 mt at $800/mt), and Simec (1,900 mt at $490/mt), FOB conditions.

The destinations were the US (5,600 mt at $812/mt FOB), and South American countries (3,600 mt at $618/mt FOB), while small volumes were shipped to Thailand and Costa Rica.

Meanwhile, Brazil imported 29,600 mt of wire rod in October, against 41,600 mt in September. The imports were from China (27,300 mt at $562/mt), Egypt (1,100 mt at $649/mt), and Europe (1,000 mt at $950/mt), also FOB conditions. Small volumes were imported from Russia and Japan.
