Brazilian automotive production (cars, trucks and buses) reached 161,200 units in February, 5.6 percent more than in January and 2.9 percent less than February 2022.

Domestic sales totaled 129,900 units in February, 9.0 percent less than in January and 1.8 percent less than in February 2022, while exports reached 34,300 units, 3.8 percent more than in January and 17.2 percent less than in February 2022.

According to Marcio de Lima Leite, president of the sector association Anfavea, in February the increased production was achieved despite the reduced working days and the heavy rains that have affected the state of São Paulo.

He added that in February, despite the reduced sales when compared to January, the number of units sold on a per-day basis was higher when comparing to January, while considering the first two months of the year, domestic sales were 5.4 percent higher on yearly basis.
