Brazilian auto production falls nearly 20 percent in September

Brazilian automakers association Anfavea announced Thursday that automobile production plunged 19.7 percent in September compared to August. Automotive sales were down as well, falling 4.9 percent month-on-month to 311,600 vehicles.

The September declines follow strong production and sales levels the previous month. Automobile output was up 5.9 percent in August from July, as sales climbed 6.9 percent.
