Automotive sales in Turkey up 3.7 percent in January-June

In June this year, sales of passenger cars and light commercial vehicles in Turkey decreased by 5.3 percent year on year and increased by 5.9 percent month on month to 106,238 units, according to the statistics released by the Turkish Automotive Distributors and Mobility Association (ODMD). In the given month, domestic sales of passenger cars in Turkey moved down by 3.6 percent year on year and went up by 9.5 percent month on month to 87,858 units, while sales of light commercial vehicles decreased by 12.6 percent year on year and by 8.3 percent month on month to 18,380 units.

In the January-June period this year, domestic sales of passenger cars and light commercial vehicles saw an increase of 3.7 percent year on year, amounting to 577,981 units. In the given period, domestic sales of passenger cars in the country grew by 7.3 percent to 462,955 units, while sales of light commercial vehicles fell by 8.7 percent to 115,026 units, both on year-on-year basis.
