Automotive sales in Turkey up 28.6 percent in October from September

In October this year, sales of passenger cars and light commercial vehicles in Turkey increased by 10.5 percent year on year and were up by 28.6 percent month on month to 91,752 units, according to the statistics released by the Turkish Automotive Distributors Association (ODD). In the given month, domestic sales of passenger cars in Turkey increased 10.6 percent year on year and were up by 31.9 percent month on month to 70,488 units, while sales of light commercial vehicles increased by 10.4 percent year on year and were up by 18.6 percent month on month to 21,264 units.

Meanwhile, in the January-October period of this year domestic sales of passenger cars and light commercial vehicles saw a decrease of 0.06 percent year on year, amounting to 719,095 units. In the given period, domestic sales of passenger cars in the country decreased by 1.09 percent to 547,109 units, while sales of light commercial vehicles rose by 3.36 percent to 171,986 units, both on year-on-year basis.
