Ansteel expects its crude steel output to exceed 30 million mt in 2010

On December 28, Liaoning Province-based Chinese steelmaker Ansteel stated that it expects its total crude steel output in 2010 to exceed 30 million mt.
 
During the January-November period of 2011, Ansteel produced 27,940,000 mt of pig iron, 27,520,000 mt of crude steel, 26,220,000 mt of finished steel, up 6.6 percent, 7.1 percent and 9.4 percent respectively on year-on-year basis. Meanwhile, Ansteel's operating revenue and gross profit for the period increased by 26.3 percent and 272.5 percent respectively year on year. It is estimated that in 2010 Ansteel's total pig iron output will reach 30.64 million mt, while its total crude steel and finished steel outputs are foreseen to reach 30.16 million mt and 28.73 million mt.
 
With its successful restructuring of Panzhihua Steel, production capacity achieving the designed level in the Bayuquan area, the establishment and operation of Anling Company and with the construction of the Putian project, Ansteel has significantly improved its advantages in terms of resources and the scale of its production operations.
