US OCTG, line pipe markets quiet amidst holiday week

Order activity and inquiries within the US domestic energy pipe markets is especially quiet this week due to the Thanksgiving holiday.

In terms of pricing, spot market prices for US domestic API X-52 line pipe have remained neutral since our last report, at an approximate range of $49.50-$52.00 cwt. ($1,091-$1,146/mt or $990-$1,040/nt), ex-mill. Deals at the service center continue to be rampant.

Import API X-52 from Mexico is also steady at approximately $46.50-$50.00 cwt. ($1,025-$1,102/mt or $930-$1,000/nt), FOB Texas.

As far as J55 ERW OCTG casing, prices are also neutral, and “official” pricing continues to be heard in the range of $50-$55 cwt. ($1,102-$1,213/mt or $1,000-$1,100/nt) ex-mill. Deals at the service center level are available.
