Pricing and demand have not changed within the US domestic HSS tubing market in the past seven days; as with last week, spot market prices are holding in the range of $51.00-$53.00 cwt. ($1,124-$1,168/mt or $1,020-$1,060/nt), ex-mill, depending on tonnage.
Buyers, however, are paying close attention to substrate costs; US scrap prices settled upward during the March buy-cycle, and it’s still believed that US HRC prices will drift up slowly in the next 90 days. As such, additional price firming for US HSS tubing may be on the horizon.
