Little, if anything has changed within the
US domestic Grade A ERW BPE standard pipe market since our last report two weeks ago.
The most commonly heard spot market price for
US domestic Grade A ERW BPE standard pipe has remained lateral, at approximately $45.00 cwt. ($992/mt or $900/nt), ex-Midwest mill, although some sources close to SteelOrbis say that some transactions are taking place slightly above, and slightly below this level based on tonnages.
Overall market activity is currently described as being decent, and although there is “certainly a lot more going on with standard pipe than there is with some of the other pipe products, no one is breaking any sales records.”
Buying activity, however, may see a seasonal boost after the close of the Labor Day holiday.
