The local Chinese steel pipe prices have maintained their stable trend during the past week.

Chinese domestic seamless pipe prices have continued their stable trend after the Chinese New Year holiday. Due to the coronavirus, most participants on the upstream and downstream sides including traders have still not returned to work. As a result, prices of seamless pipes have mostly remained stable for now. As for the week ahead, it is believed that domestic seamless pipe prices may follow a soft trend as activity gradually recovers and given producers’ high inventory levels.

Local Chinese welded pipe prices have followed a stable trend in the past seven days since most market players are still on holiday due to the coronavirus outbreak. Trading activity is almost at a standstill. As for the week ahead, it is believed that welded pipe prices may follow a slight downtrend.
