According to market sources, Chinese offers to the export markets for 0.5"-12" grade B longitudinally welded pipes as per ASTM A53 or API 5L have increased by $10/mt over the past week to $480-490/mt FOB, on theoretical weight basis. Market players state that, despite weak demand for Chinese material on export markets, prices have moved upwards due to the increase in offer prices for hot rolled coil (HRC) - the raw material for pipe production.
