During the given week, steel pipe prices have moved sideways amid the fluctuating trend in ferrous metal futures prices. At the same time, the Mid-Autumn Day holiday slackened the demand for steel pipe. However, market players expected a better performance for steel pipe in the near future. It is expected that steel pipe prices may edge up in the coming week.

Rebar futures prices at Shanghai Futures Exchange (SHFE) stand at RMB 5,656/mt ($874.2/mt) on September 22, up RMB 138/mt ($21.3/mt) or 2.5 percent from September 15.
