The local Chinese steel pipe prices have risen by a small margin during the past week.

Chinese seamless pipe prices have continued to rise slightly in the past seven days. Overall trading activity has been normal. Prices of billet and other raw materials have indicated an upward trend, supporting seamless pipe prices. Supply is still weak, influenced by environmental protection measures. As for the week ahead, considering demand may improve somewhat, it is believed that seamless pipe prices will continue to indicate small increases.

Chinese domestic welded pipe prices have also mostly indicated small upticks during the past week. Overall trading activity has picked up slightly but is still weak. Prices of raw materials and steel strip prices have increased, supporting welded pipe prices. As for the week ahead, considering demand may continue to rise and also given the support from the cost side, it is believed that welded pipe prices may continue their slight uptrend.
