Sources close to SteelOrbis have reported that activity within the US domestic standard pipe market is still robust.

Current pricing for A53 Grade B standard pipe is trending between $61.50-$64.00 cwt. ($1,356-$1,411/mt or $1,230-$1,280/nt), ex-mill, while prices for Grade A standard pipe are trending $2.50 cwt. ($55/mt or $50/nt) below the Grade B range.

Deals up to $1.00 cwt. ($22/mt or $20/nt) below the average range are said to be available for both products.

Market players, however, question how much of an impact the downward trend that’s being seen within the US HRC market will play into standard pipe spot market pricing.  The current expectation for US HRC is that prices will maintain a slow, downward drift throughout the rest of 2018.
