Turkey’s ship scrap market increases by another $5/mt

Two Turkish mills have increased their ship scrap procurement prices again, by $5-10/mt. The general range is now at $335-360/mt, up from $335-355/mt before, both for delivery to mill by truck. The recent increases recorded in the deep sea scrap segment are influencing ship scrap purchases, causing some mills to raise their ship scrap quotations to secure tonnages. This time the price revision has come from the two producers that usually use domestic scrap.

In Turkey’s Izmir region, the ship scrap purchase prices of local steelmakers are as follows:

Habaş

347

Ege Çelik

All the above prices are for delivery to mill by truck.
