On September 19, SteelOrbis reported Chinese import met coke (64-65 percent CSR) offers to India slightly down at $390-393/mt CFR India. A source estimated the FOB price on September 19 at $375-377/mt.

Sources close to SteelOrbis report that met coke offer prices have softened slightly in the past two weeks and are now reportedly at $387-390/mt CFR India with prices estimated at $370-374/mt in FOB terms. Prices declined $3/mt in CFR terms. A source noted that the environmental policies in China that may constrict Q4 export supply are supporting import prices despite the downward pressure by Indian buyers due to recent economic uncertainty as reflected in the devaluation of the INR.
