As of July 3, a few Turkish merchant bar re-rollers have kept their export prices stable at $605-625/mt FOB for July-early August shipment, against the backdrop of sluggish international demand. A few buyers believe that merchant bar export prices may soften in the short term due to the downward trend of import scrap prices.
Most international buyers are in wait-and-see mode as the new EU quota period just began two days ago.
Meanwhile, the SteelOrbis Turkish import billet daily reference price stands at $490-515/mt, versus $495-518/mt CFR last week.
