As of June 19, a few Turkish merchant bar re-rollers have kept their export prices unchanged at $615-635/mt FOB week on week for July-early August shipment as the next quota round will begin by July 1. However, additional discounts are applicable for serious buyers, depending on the tonnage and the region.
Most international buyers are in wait-and-see mode due to the decline in import scrap prices and they expect export prices may fall further in the short run.
Meanwhile, the SteelOrbis Turkish import billet daily reference price stands at $510-525/mt CFR, stable over the past week.
