Over the past week, most Turkish merchant bar re-rollers have kept their official export prices at $580-610/mt FOB. Currently, official ex-Turkey equal angle offers are standing at $580-610/mt FOB, for February-early March shipment. A few merchant bar re-rollers are even still testing slightly below $580/mt FOB, for serious buyers only, amid the negative sentiments in the import scrap and billet segments.
" A few merchant bar re-rollers’ export prices to Europe are at around $600/mt (€582/mt) FOB, while firm bid prices from buyers are around €30/mt lower at €550/mt FOB, which seems difficult to meet under the current market conditions," one source commented.
The SteelOrbis daily Turkish import billet reference price stands at $450-475/mt CFR, versus $455-480/mt CFR last week.
