As of June 26, a few Turkish merchant bar re-rollers have cut their export prices by $10/mt week on week to $605-625/mt FOB for July-early August shipment amid the downward trends in the import scrap and billet segments. However, additional discounts are applicable for serious buyers, depending on the tonnage and the region.
Most international buyers are waiting until the next EU quota period which is due to begin on July 1.
Meanwhile, the SteelOrbis Turkish import billet daily reference price stands at $495-518/mt, versus $510-525/mt CFR last week.
