As of April 17, a few Turkish merchant bar re-rollers have kept their export prices stable at $640-650/mt FOB compared to April 10, for May shipment. Most international buyers are exerting pressure for further discounts. A few merchant bar re-rollers have increased their local prices sharply. Sources report some merchant bar re-rollers may attempt to increase their export prices in the near term, in line with local prices.
Meanwhile, the SteelOrbis Turkish import billet daily reference price stands at $500-535/mt CFR, unchanged over the past week.
