As of May 8, a few Turkish merchant bar re-rollers have cut their export prices by $10/mt to $630-640/mt FOB for late May-early June shipment compared to April 30, against the backdrop of the sluggish international demand. Sources report a few merchant bar re-rollers are applying aggressive pricing strategies and are even offering slightly below $630/mt FOB for orders for large tonnages.
Meanwhile, the SteelOrbis Turkish import billet daily reference price stands at $510-537/mt, versus $508-533/mt CFR last week.
