A distributor in Rio de Janeiro told SteelOrbis that the company was informed that Usiminas will increase its HRC prices by 6 percent, effective April 1.

With the increase, the product of the basic commercial grades will be sold at BRL 2,671/mt ($728/mt), FOB, full taxes except IPI, roughly equivalent to $546/mt FOB conditions.

The source mentioned that the increase reflects the evolution of international prices, rather than domestic inflation.
