The Brazilian producers are negotiating HRC exports with their South American clients in a reference price of $740/mt, stable from two weeks ago, FOB conditions for the basic commercial grades.
In the Brazilian domestic market, HRC of the basic commercial grades is sold by producers, in medium to large volumes, at BRL 4,560/mt ($848/mt), ex works, full taxes except IPI, against BRL 4,300/mt two weeks ago.
In December, Brazil exported 50,100 mt and imported 48,500 mt of HRC, against respectively 35,800 mt 70,000 mt in November.
The exports of December were destined to South American countries (38,200 mt at $546/mt), Pakistan (8,000 mt at $372/mt) and the US (3,900 mt at $737/mt).
The exporters were ArcelorMittal (35,300 mt), Usiminas (10,100 mt), CSN (3,900 mt), and Gerdau (800 mt).
The imports were from South Korea (43,100 mt at $557/mt), Egypt (4,100 mt at $544/mt), and China (1,300 mt at $634/mt).
