Export CRC prices decline in Brazil

Exports of CRC by Brazilian producers reached 24,400 mt in October, 89 percent more than in September, according to the country’s ministry of development, industry and foreign trade, MDIC.

The average FOB export price went down by 2 percent to $736/mt, with a wide variation depending on destination: $693/mt to the US and $800/mt to Venezuela.

A source from a major distributor in the southern region told SteelOrbis that his last sale in the domestic market was closed at BRL2,350/mt ($900/mt), FOB, including Pis Cofins levies and ICMS taxes but excluding IPI tax, increased by BRL100/mt from one month ago.

Most of the exports in October were from Usiminas Cosipa (23,700 mt), while the main destinations were the US (doubled to 14,400 mt) and South America (up 76 percent to 9,500 mt, of which 8,200 mt to Venezuela).
