In March, Brazil exported 26,800 metric tons (mt) and imported 11,800 mt of CRC, against respectively 4,000 mt and 25,000 mt in February.
The huge increase in exports reflects a one-off shipment from Usiminas to Germany, 23,200 mt at $655/mt, while 3,600 mt at $1,037/mt were shipped to South American countries.
The imports were from South Korea (7,900 mt at $534/mt), China (3,800 mt at $616/mt), and Europe (100 mt at $1,008/mt), also FOB conditions.
South Korea is gradually replacing China as the main CRC exporter to Brazil, as imports of this product from China are facing prohibitive antidumping duties in Brazil.
